On July 14th 2022, Delaware UK hosted our second annual Delfest event at Tortworth Court in Bristol. We thought it would be impossible to beat last year’s celebrations, but this year’s were bigger and better than before: bringing together the people of Delaware UK and welcoming guest speakers, Eric Hiernaux (Delaware CEO) and Patrick Andersen (Chairman of Board of Directors) from Delaware International.
Delfest is our AGM – a summer festival celebrating the people of Delaware UK and the progress we have made. Holding in-person events, such as Delfest, is incredibly important to Delaware as an organisation, as it allows us to increase and strengthen our networks which are invaluable in our day to day roles – it is also great to have some fun together too! In the past year we have grown significantly and so getting everyone in one place, to focus on why we do what we do, ensures all employees are involved in and aware of our journey as a company.
A Feedback Culture
A key focus of the day was the importance of creating an effective feedback culture, where everyone can comfortably give and receive feedback in an open and honest way. Getting everyone together catalysts this initiative, as it allows us to build on our relationships with each other and become stronger as a team.
Dave clearly gives valuable feedback!
Commitments To A Better World
Outside of our responsibilities within Delaware, we also looked at how we are going to better our relationships with the social and ecological environment. We voted for the charity that Delaware UK will support for the second half of 2022 and are excited to announce that this will be MIND; a mental health charity providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
We look forward to supporting MIND achieve their goals and help raise awareness for mental health, through our upcoming fundraising events and initiatives.
Ian Greenhalgh, Managing Partner at Delaware UK, announced a new partnership with Ecologi; a Bristol based group focused on environmental and sustainability issues. Delaware UK will plant 5 trees per month for every employee, which equates to a reduction of 4.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions per employee, per year and 10,000 trees planted in the next year.
Supporting the growth and wellbeing of our people and the world we live in is something we are passionate about as an organisation. It was great that we got to celebrate this together!
