The ABAP / CPI Consultant plays a key role in designing, developing, and integrating SAP solutions to meet business requirements. This position involves working on SAP ABAP development for custom applications and enhancements, as well as leveraging SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) for seamless integration between SAP and non-SAP systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with functional and technical teams across global projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom programs, reports, and enhancements using ABAP.
Implement performance optimization and ensure compliance with SAP development standards.
Work on Object-Oriented ABAP, CDS Views, and Fiori integration.
Configure and manage SAP CPI for integration scenarios between SAP S/4HANA and external systems.
Develop and monitor integration flows (iFlows) and troubleshoot issues.
Ensure secure and efficient data exchange across platforms.
Prepare technical specifications based on functional requirements.
Maintain clear documentation for developments and integration processes.
Work closely with functional consultants to understand business needs.
Provide technical support during testing, go-live, and post-implementation phases.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Stay updated on SAP technologies, including ABAP on HANA and CPI enhancements.
Suggest improvements for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Consultant: Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP ABAP development and basic CPI exposure.
Senior: 5+ years of experience with advanced ABAP and CPI integration projects.
Lead: 8+ years of experience, including team leadership and solution architecture.
Strong proficiency in ABAP (Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms, OData services).
Experience with ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, and Fiori integration.
Hands-on experience with SAP CPI, iFlows, and integration patterns.
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and APIs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior developers (for Senior/Lead roles).
SAP ABAP certification preferred.
SAP CPI or Integration Suite certification is an advantage.
